“Still waters run deep” is a well known saying, and also the motto of this page. No fuss, no false claims or promises and no noise to spread them. Just real information that you can use to help you live a healthy lifestyle.

Because health, fitness and nutrition go hand in hand, I decided to dedicate my page to all three of them. On my blog, you will find a variety of posts including recipes, posts on mental and physical health, fitness and workouts.

About me:

Always having been called the “quiet one”, I decided that still water fitness was the perfect name for the blog that I have wanted to start for a while now. As Tyrion Lannister said: “Never forget what you are, for surely the world will not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armour yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you.” (George R.R. Martin, A Game of Thrones) Yes, I do love Game of Thrones.

I have been active in one way or another ever since childhood and started getting into fitness when I was 17. When I started going to a gym, I didn’t really know what I was doing. I started with using the machines, doing the ones I liked a few times a week. With time, I started looking for more information on how I could structure my workouts more effectively and support them with eating right. Snippet by snippet of information from several sources, I started getting a better overview of fitness and nutrition as a whole, and the more I learned, the more I got into it, and the more I wanted to learn.

After finishing my International Business degree and starting an office job, I decided to complete several health and fitness certifications in addition to my day job. I got certified as a fitness instructor, personal trainer, exercise referral instructor and then specialised on working with clients with low back pain. Additionally, I also attended further training on clinical nutrition, sports nutrition, strength and conditioning and training with suspension tools like the TRX.

As much as this blog is for everyone who would like to read it, it is also a place for me to put my thoughts into perspective, put my creativity to work and store all my recipes that turned out good.
